 This week for Chapter Chat I made the Wardens hamic, the book were reading is Holes by Louse Sacker. The hardest part was making the ground I was also thinking if I should do the background but I thought best I don't. I mixed red, orange and yellow together to make the sun! Here is work: (Mahi)    

 Every week in Literacy we have a word of the week the teacher chose a word and we have to do some research about it. This weeks word was Monstrous it means like a frighting appearance there is more down below enjoy 😎      

 This week I worked with Shanae and we made a playground it was more like a hut is has a little swing for the baby animals. We also made some swinging things that you can see in the photo below. I really enjoyed working with Shanae as normal. The playground is for tigers because we both love them. The story was We are all equal it was a nice story to listen to. I found colouring the doles were really hard the most easy part was nothing really it was all really hard.   Here are the photos of my Supernova work:  

 This term the dentist truck is parked beside the frontcourt and each student will go there and get their teeth looked at. Last week I got my teeth checked they put some cool sunglasses on and put like a torch over your head and call out some random numbers like 2 B. So the teachers came up with making a google side to present "How to look after your teeth" I worked with Melina we worked really well together and I teched her some different bits and bobs on her devices.  This term we are doing a destination zoo. We chose an animal and pick out a journal to read I read about the kiwi and turtle I had to combine them together I came up with the    Kiwaturtle   I had lots of fun doing this I added a link to the life cycle to get a supernova but I got a shooting star which is the one below it. Last week on Friday we made kites, I worked by myself but I worked alone side Shanae. I used tape, rubbish bags, bamboo, and wool. I enjoyed making the kites but I didn't get to fly them but I flew it on Monday and it kind of worked.

 This week our book was I'm sticking with you it was a story about team and friendship. I made mini hangout plays. I think I could have done better but I carried all the wood things I worked on with Ben but he didn't really help me though, I would have made it a bit bigger. 

 This week the book was Be you it was about a person who just needed to be himself.  Today I did make I made a zoo with a tiger and lion in it we used lego I never used lego for play, make, create before but it was so fun. This week I worked with Shanae SL means Shanae and Lara. Lots of things went well finding the pieces and creating the enclosure. If I could change something it would be the animals we got under pressure and didn't do the best of them.

  Term 2, Week 1 2021 During Term 1 we have been practicing our addition and subtraction knowledge through the online programme called NumBots.  At the start it was super easy but progressively got more challenging. I am now on  I'm on the level of NumBots Tusgten.   I enjoy NumBots because I'm improving in addition and subtraction. What I find challenging is the challenges on Numbots they are really hard there questions like 195 +290=?? and 209+399=???. This week we have started TTRockstars.  This is an online programme which helps us to learn our timetables. Now that hard part is over we can play in the Garage and start learning our tables. I'm a Rock Legend and I have a few seconds to go to reach Rock hero. 

 This week our book was Up through the creek it was a pitcher book I made a new design instead of being on a normal boat. I chose to work all by myself but I and Shanae gave each other some ideas the hardest bit was putting the skylights on the top. I don't think I would do anything differently with my car boat.  Here is my car and boat at the same time:

  Whetu Fun Day Last Thursday we had a Whetu Fun Day as our camp was postponed.  Our teachers planned a fun day for us instead!  We participated in a Whetu Amazing Race, a range of different fun rotations, a BBQ lunch, and play on the council playground then we finished the day with an Easter Egg hunt and an ice block. My favorite part of the Amazing Race was working with Shanae to find the eggs with the laminated code. My fav challenge was spelling Fun in my group, I worked with Shanae, Sarah, Niki, Katara, and Heidie (Don't know how to spell her name) The rotation I enjoyed the most was the newspaper challenge we dressed Shanae into an Easter bunny we had one meter of tape, Shanae loved it. I worked with Uvini and Shanae I had lots of fun. During the Easter Egg Hunt, I found my stick on the wood line rope of a baby tree and it was orange and after I found it I ran to the hall as fast as my little legs could go.  This Monday I and Shanae make a minny campsite out of ape, paper towel, some containers too. We worked really well together there is more information on the video below (The S.L stands for Shanae Lara). Enjoy! 💗💙💚💛💜

 Today in Whetu we did something called Play, Make, Create and I chose to make a unique Gruffalo. I worked by myself but Shane helped me. I did it on google drawings it was the first time. I was so close to finishing. Here it is:

Monday was our school Swimming Sports. On the day I did give it is a go on everything except back stock and I came third place. I felt nervous at first but after a bit I was happy. We had two art sessions this week and I'm doing Landscape I have not been at school for 2 days so I have not done it. In reading this week we have once again I was not there. But for D.E.A.R I've been reading Charlotte Web. Part of our maths program is NumBots and I think I am getting really good I'm a Copper at the moment. I feel I have been improving in maths.  

  Week 4, Term 1, 2021 The most interesting/fun thing we have done during class time this week is a free play on Thursday we went outside before lunch and me and Shanae went to the monkey bar and pretended we were monkeys! We started our art this week and I have chosen to do art with Mrs Kennedy.  Our art is going to be Landscaping art we do shape things to separate the objects. We created our Whetū stars on Thursday and they look amazing I worked with Shanae's mum because my mum could not make it. Next week we have our school swimming sports. I am feeling a bit nervous and excited at the same time.

  Someone who has helped me with my learning this year is my teachers and my friends have been really helpful to my learning. The most interesting/fun thing we have done during class time is Swimming and dress-up and Numbots day has been really great at the moment. The most fun thing that I have done at a play or lunchtime this year is dodgeball with Victoria and Shanae on the playground. (I'm always in) One word that describes learning in Whetu is fun and awesome I learn lots. Something I am looking forward to is having more fun in my last year in Whetu and helping the year 5's into the Whetu team.

2021 a new year of school now I'm a year six and I'm a leader in the Whetu team. I looking forward to this year because there are new students and once that I had 2 years ago.  This year is way different than that year there is a maths thing that Mrs Loft found called Numbots it is really fun even though I don't really like maths.
